Edge-On-Hudson

Identity design for a very high-end master plan community on the Hudson river in Sleepy Hollow, NY. This new community is getaway from the hustle and bustle of NY living with the same conveniences being a short commute away. The chosen concept played on that juxtaposition of peace and energy. The tall slender puzzle-like logo provided a base for the collection logos to build on. We carried the knock-out style headings throughout the applications as well as the die cut on the cover of the brochure. Whitespace was paired with tight shots of health-related focal photography to a busier sky, horizon shot with energy. All of the paper stock was premium tactile with a toothy texture to really pull in the senses of the natural, clean, peaceful tone that we set out for. Below the edge brand and identity are the 2nd and 3rd concepts that were presented to see the range of looks.

about me

Thanks for dropping by! I’m Justin and Lifefroots is my portfolio.

"Why 'lifefroots'?" Well... justinwagner.com was taken. From there I thought it was a play on either the 'fruits of my life' or 'my life roots'. I thought this might linger in someone's mind longer than any other thought I had at the time. It was fine for the time being and it just stuck over the years. Getting that out of the way, my passion for design is most likely the reason you are here. If so, that's great, because it's a large part of who I am.

It all started with video...I had spent my childhood filming and editing BMX videos of my friends and I. That led me to my double major in video and photographic studies. From there, I fell into working on the web. I am a collector and a completest at heart, so I decided that I needed to learn how to code. I learned HTML,CSS,JS,PHP and worked as a lead front-end dev for a few years. Again as a completist, I moved from web to interface which then led me to focus on the importance of overall user experience. After checking all of those boxes, I returned to design and its role in the overall customer's experience. I am currently working as the Senior Art Director at Toll Brothers leading all interactive, digital, and video content.

Aside from brand and clean code, I love bicycles, my cats, technology (part-fanboy part audiophile), history, and anything vintage.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you found at least something interesting here. Now let’s create something special together.
